The Murrough and Jack's Hole add shingle-beach fishing with ray, smoothhound, and bass in season, though access and railway crossings demand respect. Wicklow Head marks are advanced only: rough ground, swell exposure, and real consequences if you fish them in the wrong weather. Town parking and harbour access make this a practical base for multi-mark days. Wicklow is not the prettiest session on a howling onshore, and Magheramore south of town is a dogfish beach, not a bass destination. Fish the pier and Murrough when conditions are moderate, and leave the headlands for calm, daylight-friendly days with a planned exit route.
