Who we are
Irish Shore Fishing (irishshorefishing.ie) is a sea angling resource for anglers in Ireland, based in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Questions about this policy? Use our contact page.
What data we collect
- Contact form messages: Name, email, and message content, used only to respond to your enquiry.
- Analytics: We use privacy-respecting analytics (Umami, self-hosted) to understand how the site is used. Umami does not use advertising cookies and we do not share personal data with Umami’s operator for ad targeting.
- Advertising: Irish Shore Fishing doesn’t currently show display advertising, and no advertising cookies are set. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any ads appear.
- Email: Signup surfaces on /plan, /tide-weather, and articles all feed the Sunday Wicklow plan list (conditions, marks, and season notes each Sunday morning). Legal basis: consent. Each email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also contact us to be removed. Separately, "Email today's plan" on /plan sends that day's plan once to the address you enter; your address is added to the Sunday list only if you tick the opt-in.
- Cloudflare: The site is served via Cloudflare, which processes technical connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site.
How we use your data
- To respond to contact form enquiries.
- To send the Sunday Wicklow plan when you have opted in.
- To email today's plan once when you request it on /plan.
- To improve the website using anonymised analytics data.
Data storage
Sunday plan and spot-alert emails are stored on our own servers in Ireland (or the EU) as plain-text records used only to send those messages and honour unsubscribes. Contact form messages are handled privately via our email relay.
We do not sell your data. We use service providers only to deliver the product you asked for:
- Cloudflare for CDN, security, and connection data (such as IP addresses).
- Transactional email (currently Resend when configured) to send the Sunday plan, spot alerts, and contact replies.
- ConvertKit only when that integration is enabled, as an alternate list store for the Sunday Wicklow plan.
- Umami (self-hosted analytics) for anonymised page usage. No advertising cookies.
Amazon Associate links go to Amazon.ie; Amazon may set its own cookies on their site after you click through.
Advertising
Irish Shore Fishing doesn't currently show display advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any ads appear. Affiliate gear links are separate and labelled.

Some pages contain affiliate links to products on Amazon.ie. Irish Shore Fishing earns from qualifying purchases as an Amazon Associate.
