Access
Park in Howth village or harbour car parks and walk onto the east or west pier. DART to Howth station is practical without a car. Respect working boats and keep clear of commercial berths and slipways.

Dublin Port (North Wall) minus about 5 minutes for Howth high water (Dublin Port Company differences). Live heights: Port gauge, not a Howth instrument.
Safety
Commercial harbour: keep clear of moorings, slips, and active berths. Wet algae on lower steps. Do not block working access.
Tactics
Summer: feathers or small metals for mackerel on the flood and early ebb. Winter nights: two-hook flapper or running ledger with lug or rag for whiting and dogfish. Wall edges hold pollack and coalfish on float or soft plastics. Inner harbour mullet on float when boats allow.
