Access
Approach from the Ringsend / Poolbeg side of the South Bull Wall. Long walk to the lighthouse end. Parking is limited and contested; plan public transport or legal street parking. Stay off restricted port and power-station operational zones.
Tide
Dublin Port (North Wall) is the home reference: Port and Poolbeg sit on the same tide table set. Streams in the Liffey mouth can be strong on the ebb.
Safety
Working port approaches, bike and walker traffic, and sudden spray. Never enter fenced industrial or ESB operational areas. Strong tidal streams off the wall end. This is shore access only: no charter or boat claims.
Tactics
Feathers for summer mackerel on the outer wall. Ledger fish baits for conger and dogfish after dark. Pollack on float or soft plastics along wall edges. Historic hot-water outlet notes exist; treat access and safety as dynamic and verify on the day.
