Shore marks

When to be standing there.

They do not share a window. Greystones Harbour & Pier on the push of the flood into high water; Greystones South Beach on the first of the ebb into the run of the ebb. Same predictions, different hours on the ground: pick the mark first, then read its window off the table. Codling is the first target at every mark here.

The predictions above are the same for everyone. What changes mark to mark is which slice of that curve is worth the walk. Each window below is that mark’s peak tide phases laid over the next day and a half of real water, not a rule of thumb.

Greystones Harbour & Pier

Wicklow pier

Fishes the push of the flood into high water.

  • Tomorrow 06:01 to 11:38 (running to high water at 11:10)
  • Tomorrow 18:24 to 23:53 (running to high water at 23:25)
  • Tue 06:40 to 12:12 (running to high water at 11:45)

Greystones South Beach

Wicklow beach: Codling, Pollack, Dab

Fishes the first of the ebb into the run of the ebb.

  • Today 23:17 to 04:07 (running to low water at 04:35)
  • Tomorrow 11:38 to 16:32 (running to low water at 17:00)
  • Tomorrow 23:53 to 04:47 (running to low water at 05:15)

Walls hold depth at any state, open sand does not. If you arrive at the wrong end of the tide for the beach, the pier is usually still fishable.
