Shore marks

When to be standing there.

They do not share a window. Killoughter Beach and Five Mile Point on the first of the ebb into the run of the ebb; The Breaches, Kilcoole on the first of the flood into the push of the flood, and again on the first of the ebb. Same predictions, different hours on the ground: pick the mark first, then read its window off the table. First targets run Smoothhound and Flounder, depending which you walk to.

The predictions above are the same for everyone. What changes mark to mark is which slice of that curve is worth the walk. Each window below is that mark’s peak tide phases laid over the next day and a half of real water, not a rule of thumb.

Killoughter Beach

Wicklow beach: Smoothhound, Thornback ray, Homelyn ray

Fishes the first of the ebb into the run of the ebb.

  • Today 23:17 to 04:07 (running to low water at 04:35)
  • Tomorrow 11:38 to 16:32 (running to low water at 17:00)
  • Tomorrow 23:53 to 04:47 (running to low water at 05:15)

Five Mile Point

Wicklow beach: Smoothhound, Bass, Homelyn ray

Fishes the first of the ebb into the run of the ebb.

  • Today 23:17 to 04:07 (running to low water at 04:35)
  • Tomorrow 11:38 to 16:32 (running to low water at 17:00)
  • Tomorrow 23:53 to 04:47 (running to low water at 05:15)

The Breaches, Kilcoole

Wicklow estuary: Flounder, Bass, Grey mullet

Fishes the first of the flood into the push of the flood, and again on the first of the ebb.

  • Today 23:17 to 00:05 (running to low water at 04:35)
  • Tomorrow 05:06 to 10:38 (running to high water at 11:10)
  • Tomorrow 11:38 to 12:27 (running to low water at 17:00)

Channel and river-mouth ground moves water hard on the turn. Fish the flood in over clean sand and watch the lagoon side of any bar on the ebb.
