How to fish it
- Cast 45 to 90 degrees uptide from your position
- Use a breakaway grip lead heavy enough to hold in the current
- As the rig settles, pay out a bow of slack line, this allows the lead to grip properly
- Place the rod low and watch for the bow to tighten suddenly, that's often the bite indicator
- Striking uptide fishing requires a sweep strike rather than a lift
